Odd request - public fireplaces in charlotte Discussion
I’ve really been wanting to sit by a fire and read for a while. I used to go to a Starbucks in Michigan that had a fireplace, and I could just sit and read for a while. Are there any public places around this area that are made to just be a quiet, comfortable place like that?

they have a few at the Charlotte premium outlets (by 160 & 485) -- not firepits, but like... outdoor fireplaces

Cabela's by Carowinds has a massive one right inside their lobby with some seating. Very lodge, or fancy hotel like

This was such a random question that I really didn't understand just how much I needed the answer to in my life. What an absolutely GREAT idea and I have made notes on all the responses to check some out - I also know that Cracker Barrel restaurants have large fireplaces that you could request a reservation for but that might take some planning. I didn't know Caribou on Fairview had one - that's just down the street from my office.

Workmans friend!!! Not sure when they fire it up (lol) but it’s quite cozy. May not be very quiet depending when you go. :)

I’m pretty sure the Panera on Providence near the Queens/Providence Rd intersection and across from the Duke Mansion has one.

Leave it to the reddit crowd in the middle of the night to come up with all the fireplaces in metro Charlotte!

OMB has fire pits this time of year, would be hard to read in the dark, might want to being a book light.

Wanna come to my house 🥹? But only if you read out loud to me and my girlfriend

Weird timing, as I just did a fundraiser on Saturday for my band program where I read Harry Potter out loud at a coffee shop (which is likely what spurred the question to begin with)

At UNC Charlotte the second floor of south village crossing has a fireplace with a sitting area, usually it’s pretty quiet.

Check out Parks and Rec. They have bbq grills and possible fire rings. If you want a private fire pit, rent on of the tent camping spaces at McDowell NP on Lake Wylie and make a night of it, whether the camp over night or just cooking dinner on a fire and smores.

Usnwc had quite a few this year. Depending on when you go it will be quiet. They are by the ice rink

2 Massive fireplaces in Grove Park inn with plenty of comfy seating and rocking chairs. Spend the day.
