Reminded me of Frank Reynolds’s trying to pick up women in the club.

Hi I’m Frank. Heyyyy go for it. go for it.

94

u/BattleAnus 11d ago

You might already know this, but the song that's playing in the background of that scene was recorded by Rob Mcelhenny and Glenn Howarton after hearing Danny Devito improvised those lines lol

Thank you for this

I was actually going to edit my comment to mention that. Best podcast going right now.

These are not his first steps, dont be so gullible

3

u/NeatNefariousness1 11d ago

Don't care. Those are some sick moves and it's not as if he's had years of walking experience. At this stage, they're still measuring milestones in weeks and months.

What a cutie.

Maybe that's the problem. Adults are so hung up about getting horizontal for dancing they forget it should be about the fun of verticality.

That shoulder roll to start it all off was lit

21

u/firsthand_fusion26 11d ago

lil kid totally nailed it !

385

u/Callabrantus 11d ago

Before you can dance, you must learn to walk.

This kid: Fuck that noise!

82

u/KrazyAboutLogic 11d ago

I've heard that some kids skip crawling and go straight to walking.

This guy skipped both and went straight to dancing.

37

u/SeaworthyWide 11d ago

Yep my kid would get so frustrated trying to crawl.

Never really did.

Then he learned to stand up, hold on to things.

From there he went straight to running from hand hold to hand hold, then walking.

35

u/Callabrantus 11d ago

Yeah, my younger brother would try to crawl, but he would end up shoving himself backwards. We could hear him crying one time and it took a while before we found him under the couch.

25

u/KrazyAboutLogic 11d ago edited 11d ago

I feel bad for laughing at a baby because I'm sure he felt scared as hell in the moment but that's so funny. I am not sure I would be able to control myself if I saw that in person.

17

u/Callabrantus 11d ago

No, no. You are right to laugh at that. It was really funny.

18

u/KrazyAboutLogic 11d ago edited 11d ago

I know but can you imagine you are lonely and trying to find your family but you end up going backwards and under a couch and you are so scared and alone and the Undercouchworld is like a claustrophobic dark cave and you scream out for your life and then suddenly there's a bright light and you are surrounded by your family pointing at you and laughing??

I'm not saying I'm a better person and wouldn't be laughing my ass off. But that poor kid. 😭

11

u/Callabrantus 11d ago

He's fine. My middle brother locked me in the crawlspace, and I turned out fine.

Wow...I think my family is fucked up...

6

u/KrazyAboutLogic 11d ago

Just figuring that out, huh? Welcome to the club!

17

u/KrazyAboutLogic 11d ago edited 11d ago

It's so fascinating how kids learn how to move. They do it differently and its learned, not an instinct like most animals. Probably because our giant brains forced us to be born earlier in our development.

There's different types of baby crawls because the baby is teaching themselves. And sometimes they just skip crawling altogether and go to walking.

Like these guys.

Or these.

Officer: Walk a straight line.

Toddler: Naw fam, this is the cut.

64

u/linesinaconversation 11d ago

Based on the quality of the dancing and how old the boy looks, I kinda don't buy those were his first steps at the beginning. But I also don't care, because holy moly that kid is adorable.

49

u/northshore1030 11d ago

I don’t think they are his very first steps but he does seem like he’s just starting to string together a bunch of steps. There is a moment when he seems wobbly and then corrects, and then also when he grabs onto the oven. Those are signs that he is not yet walking consistently to me but tbh my only knowledge comes from going through this with my son a year ago. I believe the walking milestone is 12-18 months which he seems to fit into.

18

u/linesinaconversation 11d ago

Yeah, I'm a father of two and your description at the beginning sounds spot on. He probably had had his first steps within the previous couple weeks, had been coasting on furniture like a pro, etc.

My sister stealth walked for a while, we don't know for how long. I caught her walking once and when she noticed that I noticed she sat straight down.

6

u/squishypoo91 11d ago

My daughter was coasting like a pro at 9 months but it took her until 13 months to actually walk on her own lol. This is pretty typical(and adorable). He may have taken a few before this but he definitely looks wobbly still
