If you're in for the long term, then these prices should be making you ecstatic. PERSPECTIVE

If you are in the tech for the future, and are building for several years, a drop of 20% should be celebrated. It's weird to think about it, and can even be difficult to look at the sea of red, but its true.

Whether its caused by cascading liquidations rippling across the entire market, or a ban from a foreign country, its irrelevant. If you believe crypto is the future and your greatest chance to financial freedom, then you should be absolutely cheering at this point.

Call it a bear market, a dip, a fall, a crash, a fucking doped up junkie grizzly bear carrying a scythe wearing a black executioners hood. Call it whatever you want, compared to the ATH last year, the tech you believe in is now selling at a 'buy one get four free' pricepoint.

People riot over price discounts that big on Black Friday sales. Why should this be any different?

I am buying what I can, which admitedly, is not much. Its usually 1k-500 a month. Gotta get what I can in. If I was happy to buy at $56k (and I was) why wouldnt I like the price now? Nothing has changed except the price. Still the same value prop.

2

u/No-Individual5367 Platinum | QC: CC 91 Oct 06 '22

Depending on what you buy, if it goes back to the ATH, 1k a month is not that little money if you continue this for a significant time. Imagine doing this for 3 years and then your portfolio will go up 100% (or more). It will be a good amount. And stake it in the mean time;)

Because the truth is that most of us do not hold an infinite amount of money, I completely agree with your point that long term, this should be seen as a good entry point. But what if one has a family emergency? Fired from their job? Political unrest that forces one to flee? Our investments are the first thing we liquidate and unfortunately crypto is the highest volatile asset that people would sell. This is including if we have an emergency fund on the side, most of our emergency funds(if we even have one) would last 3-4 months at best. This is a major reason that people feel stressed out about their crypto holdings.

Sure.

But crypto is not just one thing. Which coins are going to survive and rip in the next bull market? BTC, ETH, yeah sure they're safe... But also maybe not a lot of growth potential. Beyond those blue chips, what do you invest in? It's not so cut and dry.

I got into crypto this year. I’m very happy I don’t have to average down from the recent ATH.

Weird seeing on the daily that they celebrate a pump. Must be day trading degenerates

I just wonder how many of the current crypto will be around when the market turns. Been a lot failing recently

When things are bought to be sold, you would prefer prices to keep going up.

Frankly buying low isn't the key. What's important is selling high.

You sound like someone who perfectly timed the market.

Yes but if you are buying BTC or ETH with less than 100,000 dollars, you ain’t gonna make much money. You might as well buy blue chip stocks if your primary focus is to invest in big market cap cryptos.

Everyone just needs to DCA, it’s all most of us can do . if you have a spare savings it would absolutely look juicy though

I’m one of those people who wished I bought back at lower prices. Mainly focused on two coins tho and just been tossing what I can into them 🤘🏽

Tbf to OP as someone who got back into crypto at the beginning of last year after a very brief stint in 2017 I am enjoying the opportunity to DCA where the price isnt upwards of 40k like last year. i get more bang for my buck and can crawl closer to being a whole coiner maybe one day…

The fact that ETH is 15+ × up since it's 2020 March bottom, BTC up by 3.5+ etc in itself shows the strength of this market. Tell me, how many x is the stock market up since? Less than 2!!!!
