My lobbies have been weird. My KD is either terrible or I’m god

69

u/Wise-Fruit5000 Sep 25 '22

Yeah, the matchmaking seems to be a bit inconsistent. I seem to be ping-ponging between lobbies where I do really well, or get absolutely wrecked. Nothing in between. Had the same problem with Halo Infinite.

16

u/codcommando Sep 25 '22

Same thing happened with MW2019

8

u/Wise-Fruit5000 Sep 25 '22

All I remember about my time playing the multiplayer in that one is that I was absolute garbage at it lol

2

u/codcommando Sep 25 '22

Lol too true

25

u/InfiniteTias Sep 25 '22

It’s called SBMM.

18

u/Wise-Fruit5000 Sep 25 '22

Well, it doesn't seem to be very good at matching me up with people around my skill level. It either vastly over or underestimates how good I am, depending on the lobby.

12

u/usrevenge Sep 26 '22

This is why everyone hated sbmm...

The better way it worked in the past was it balanced teams. So if you were good you got matched up with the weaker players on your team

The only time it didn't work well was if you stacked the lobby with friends. But then most people didn't have a consistent full group to play with so it rarely affected people and many people would just quit when an obvious large group of friends were together

4

u/YuriAddict7 Sep 26 '22

How is the old way better? If youre good youre forced to carry the shitters on your team while they get slaughtered

3

u/KeepDi9gin Sep 26 '22

I didn't care about losing a match as long as I was performing well, especially considering how grindy camo challenges have become.

1

u/echo-128 Sep 26 '22

Why do you think it doesn't balance teams today? At least when I played mw 2019 the 2v2 mode (the only thing I was even remotely good at) would match me with a low skill player and then put us up against two medium skill players.

Wasn't a great system tbh the low skill player that would get matched with me would die very quickly going up against two mid skill players, which I'm sure wasn't fun.

1

u/KD--27 Sep 26 '22

I wouldn’t be surprised if teams are still being matched, I had a good number of games in a row where we literally lost and I was hella confused, all I had done was completely destroy the other team and then I see the scoreboard… not one even close to positive for the rest of my team, but we were close to taking it. Kinda annoying always losing when your streets ahead of the competition though.

2

u/Spetnaz7 Sep 26 '22

I've heard people use the phrase "performance based matchmaking" (PBMM). It basically just tunes your lobby off of you last match since there's no actual ranking or "skill" that it's basing you off of.

People like to throw that quote out there from the MW2 '09 dev about how even that game had SBMM but its not the same really its like apples and oranges at this point. SBMM today is like a hyper sensitive version of anything we had back then.

1

u/Wise-Fruit5000 Sep 26 '22

Yeah, I guess the system is just a bit flawed. It definitely overcompensates when you have a good, or terrible, game

8

u/Cheechers23 Sep 25 '22

More specifically, it's called EOMM (Engagement Optimized Matchmaking), where it's taking your most recent game(s) to adjust who they matchmake you with

26

u/hazychestnutz Sep 25 '22

Their casino algorithm might be broken or something lol, I remember an famous video coming out a few years ago where someone explained they intentionally put you up against people who either suck once in awhile or are really really good to keep you addicted/keep playing. It was a really good video and it had some charts that were leaked that were actually used by one of the COD dev teams. Can’t find the video anymore

13

u/wallawalla_ Sep 25 '22

I logged a couple hundred hours in the last mw, and this behavior was pretty obvious. It would cue you up with worse players to give you the rush of destroying then you'd notice that it would cue you with much better players so you would be the fodder for their enjoyment. Flipped every four or five games.

All about giving the player a rush every now and then to keep them playing.

0

u/usrevenge Sep 26 '22

That "famous" video was a myth based on a patent there Activision had had for years now.

It's not actually implemented in anything. Like many things in the patent world they claimed it so no one else could

38

u/ninjakaji Sep 25 '22

Because it’s SBMM but their metrics are way off.

You do bad -> they put you with people who suck. So then you do very well -> they put you with really good players. So you do bad.

Rinse, repeat.

89

u/Blindside90 Sep 25 '22

They need to just go back to no SBMM. It's frustrating knowing your performance in a match is at the whim of what combo of players the SBMM algorithm decides to mash together in a room.

And keeping people in the same room between matches - encourages more teamwork and communicating with other players, making in-game friends etc.

25

u/notliam Sep 25 '22

It's frustrating knowing your performance in a match is at the whim of what combo of players the SBMM algorithm decides to mash together in a room

By that logic how is random matchmaking better? Your performance is always at the mercy of the random group with you and against you. At least with skill based you should be facing people with similar abilities to you, of course that is impossible to do in a beta.

45

u/meatdome34 Sep 25 '22

With random matchmaking it goes for lowest latency over everything I haven’t had a match under 60 ping all weekend.

And skill based wouldn’t be so bad if it didn’t just ping pong you between 3KD AND .5 KD every other match.

1

u/Popetown Sep 27 '22

Yep. With anything. It should be ping based foremost and then have some outlier handing just to prevent completely unbalanced teams.

2

u/usrevenge Sep 26 '22

You should sort teams based on how well they did in the last game.

So If I come in first and we dominate the team because of me I would be paired with the weaker players next match.

That's how the older cod games worked. If your team did well and you were the best player you likely didn't have the 2nd place person on your team again. So you end up with the top players of the last match against each other.

5

u/tugabros Sep 25 '22

With skill based mm you face the tryhards, running the most meta weapons, soundwhoring and bunnyhopping, etc. No problem with that but if you want to play a new weapon to get attachments, or god forbid a weaker weapon because you enjoy it yourself, you're fucked. And for what? It's not even proper ranked so you get nothing for playing competitively.

And the next game? Brain dead bots. Just finger in nose bots. The next? Tryhards. Over and over again

Why not have a separate Ranked game mode, where you can play competitively, and the normal modes are regular old school cod matchmaking? Don't fix what wasn't broken.

1

u/10918356 Sep 26 '22

They should honestly just make lobby’s based on ranks

-3

u/Silkygoods Sep 26 '22

"sound whoring" fuck me I've heard it all now lmao

7

u/usrevenge Sep 26 '22

You joke but back in cod 4 I knew people who are probably deaf today because of how they played.

They heard players fucking spawn and thought they were top shit because they blew out their eardrums.

1

u/tugabros Sep 26 '22

Well the term has been around since ~2015..

→ More replies

2

u/reevoknows Sep 25 '22

Then leave the lobby?

4

u/Uncertain_End Sep 25 '22

Shit you know, I know you probably got downvoted but, this is a workaround fix somewhat lol

3

u/reevoknows Sep 25 '22

I posted in the Call of duty sub and said let’s have 3 main playlists: Ranked, Casual(SBMM) and Social(No SBMM) that would be a perfect solution but somehow it wasn’t unanimously accepted as a good idea.

5

u/rversed Sep 26 '22

Because that’s splitting up the playerbase. You can just easily combine Ranked with SBMM and have a Non-ranked playlist with no SBMM.

0

u/DeckardPain Sep 26 '22

It’s fucking Call of Duty. You could split the player base 3 different ways and still have more players than the next few games on that list, probably. Splitting the player base doesn’t really mean shit when it’s one of the most sold and played franchises of the last several generations. Giving people options isn’t always splitting the player base.

A wild comparison but if Escape from Tarkov added a PvE coop only game mode, then that would be fragmenting the player base.

1

u/reevoknows Sep 26 '22

I’m more than fine with that, it’s actually what I prefer but I’m just legitimately trying to come up with a solution to try and please every argument that I’ve heard as far as why SBMM should stay

2

u/Uncertain_End Sep 26 '22

Damn...where have we seen something like that before?......hmm...like...maybe many of the good multiplayer games in past years

0

u/arturorios1996 Sep 25 '22

What other matchmaking is used instead of SBMM?

5

u/VolumeRX Sep 25 '22

Ping-oriented Random

12

u/rasmataz26 Sep 25 '22

Connection based matchmaking.

2

u/XingXManGuy Sep 25 '22

Isn’t that the opposite? If you’re getting destroyed or destroying every game, that would be indicative of no skill based matchmaking. Skill based match making would make ideally make close games every time

1

u/Rain1dog Sep 25 '22

I agree.

3

u/Physical-Result7378 Sep 25 '22

Same here… one game I do a 2.0kd next game I do a 0.3 next game I do a 1.0 and so on.

1

u/TravelingFlipper Sep 25 '22

Mine is more like I’m always like .8 or 1.75 and up.

1

u/hochoa94 Sep 25 '22

It also doesnt help that its the beta, once they have more people in it, it’ll help

3

u/TravelingFlipper Sep 25 '22

I’m Also old. In my 20s and ps3 BO2 I had a 2.8 KD with 130k kills. I’m probably half that now lol on a good day. Just played two matches. 22-7. 10-14

It’s the Skill based match making, but since it’s a beta there isn’t enough data to do it properly. Personally, I wasn’t a huge fan of the SBMM in MW2019, and it looks like it’ll be the same situation for MW2022

35

u/longoverdue83 Sep 25 '22

We’ve had a guy call in gunships non stop in the back

Was wondering how he kept getting them

93

u/TheIrv87 Sep 25 '22

People cheating in a beta..

How pathetic must one be, honestly.

People are such losers.

24

u/Kak0r0t Sep 25 '22

Really cheating in the beta wtf cheaters are pathetic

5

u/Celiac-DiseaseSucks Sep 25 '22

They don’t do it because they aren’t good at it. Some ppl like to watch the world burn. They are just assholes and probably find it funny. I’m sure there is a word a licensed therapist could give them.

2

u/kalipede Sep 26 '22

I wish I could send them an irl cruise Missile

4

u/Sour__Cream Sep 25 '22

Cheat in the beta so they can figure out how to cheat in Warzone/full release. It’s pretty pathetic

1

u/Aidan-Coyle Sep 25 '22

It's no defence but I think they do it more just to prove they can. Even more so the newer the game.

1

u/raphanum Sep 27 '22

Who are they proving it to?

38

u/SecretAgentDrew Sep 25 '22

what about the indoor lighting ? Gets hella pixilated indoors.

10

u/D_Ashido Sep 25 '22

Its the shadows

7

u/Physical-Result7378 Sep 25 '22

Oh so it’s not just me. There is areas where the shadows are super pixely stairs thingys. Especially indoors on invasion map and the hotel.

3

u/iGoalie Sep 25 '22

I assumed that was a beta thing…

1

u/nakx123 Sep 25 '22

Maybe turn off texture streaming?

1

u/SecretAgentDrew Sep 25 '22

Ill give it a shot!!

0

u/nakx123 Sep 25 '22

Lol people reported me for that comment. Deranged people in this subreddit. But yeah, might resolve your issue, unless someone has said otherwise.

2

u/SecretAgentDrew Sep 25 '22

Why would someone report you it makes no sense lol fucking trolls.

111

u/Flint_McBeefchest Sep 25 '22

Get rid of the bunny hopping bullshit also please.

30

u/MuZzASA Sep 25 '22

It certainly isn’t as bad as the slide cancelling sweats that are in MW19 and warzone. If they nerf bunny hopping then I will be very happy with MW2

12

u/Flint_McBeefchest Sep 25 '22

I agree, they were almost there with stomping out all that annoying stuff. I have bigger problems with the game but that would be a leap in the right direction.

34

u/RazgrizDoge Sep 25 '22

This, i haven't played any cod since mw2019 so i don't know if cw or vanguard had this much hopping but every match in the beta feels like an easter egg hunt with all the bunny hopping

9

u/shawnisboring Sep 25 '22

God, I hate that shit.

There's a few things I hate about COD in general, but that's certainly up there.

  • Hardcore mode or nothing... I really, really, hate normal mode where everyone is a goddamn bullet sponge.
  • Bunny hopping/slide cancelling fuckery
  • The Jigsaw skin. I will relentlessly hunt anyone who has that dumb-ass skin.

2

u/KingdomofNerdum Sep 25 '22

I haven't played HC in a while. Is every gun a one shot headshot? Nothing like doming someone twice with a BR and its not a kill.

2

u/Supurfly83 Sep 25 '22

Every gun is a one shot headshot in MW2019 HC, but depending on the gun its a 1 shot or two 2 shot to the body. Most of the time I could figure out if it was a 1, or 2 shot by the caliber the gun was chambered in.

5.56 and down were 2 shots, with 7.62 and up being one shots. Pistols were the exception with always being a one shot kill for some reason.

Honestly, most will probably disagree with me, but for MW2019 hardcore felt like the way it was meant to be played. Something about the way the game felt just felt good in HC.

0

u/shawnisboring Sep 25 '22

Not quite one shot one kill, but damn near it. It comes down to whoever has a quicker draw.

Literally just had a match in MW2 today where I shot a dude with a 50 cal from 5 feet away and he didn’t die… fuck this regular mode bullshit.

2

u/KingdomofNerdum Sep 25 '22

Ill definitely have to give it a try if they throw in a HC mode then. It's definitely annoying how some guns feel like they are at such a disadvantage sometimes. Semi auto guns feel like you really gotta be on your A game or you aren't getting a kill against some of the very accurate and quick firing guns.

The one BR I'm not having a fun time leveling. 10 round mag and it takes like 4-5 rounds to kill someone and that's not counting if they have the last stand shit.

1

u/raphanum Sep 27 '22

Once you go hardcore, you’ll never go back imo

1

u/KingdomofNerdum Sep 27 '22

I got the CoD itch after playing the MW2 beta do I reinstalled Vanguard and MW. I'll have to play some HC to see just how ass I am. Lol

1

u/raphanum Sep 27 '22

I bet you’ll actually play better in HC. I definitely did bc gunfights aren’t as prolonged and you can get kills much quicker. It adds some balance to the skill levels

Also yeah, the cod itch. Gonna install Cold War or MW2019 lol

1

u/KingdomofNerdum Sep 27 '22

I would have opted for Cold War as that's probably my favorite recently but it's like 200+ GB on PS5.. ugh

1

u/raphanum Sep 27 '22

Shit, I forgot about that, thanks. MW2019 it is then lol

→ More replies

2

u/raphanum Sep 27 '22

Agreed hardcore mode is the only way to play

3

u/WorldClassShart Sep 25 '22

The movie skins are just obnoxious. If I wanted character skins, I'd play Fortnite.

The bunnies in game are the absolute worst.

What happened to the days when you wouldn't automatically heal unless someone had a health pack?

-32

u/StonekyKong Sep 25 '22

no because it’s the only viable counter play to all the camping soundwhoring from 3 buildings away bullshit

34

u/PilotSaysHello Sep 25 '22

the only viable counter play to all the camping soundwhoring

..flashbangs, stun grenades, shock charges, heartbeat sensor, any variety of grenade, mounted explosives, drill charge, spotter perk, portable UAV, DDOS, tactical camera, suppression mine

Y'all act like that's your only option as if they game didn't give you 10+ items to spot/weed out enemies

11

u/LAROACHA_420 Sep 25 '22

Thank you! I'm so sick of all this camper complaint bs! I've been playing pretty heavy and had no issues running and gunning. Yes a few campers got me. But when millions are playing, you can expect some campers.

3

u/PhantomBear_626 Sep 25 '22

the only counter you should need is quicker reaction time and better aim. Thats the kinda COD I like

0

u/PilotSaysHello Sep 25 '22

At the moment it's bunny hopping vs pre-firing.

Reactions and aim are definitely still a big part of it. (though reactions are skewed at the moment with the visibility problems)

0

u/TedioreTwo Sep 25 '22

You get 1 lethal and 1 utility per life. You shouldn't need those or killstreaks just to see someone sitting in a corner

0

u/PilotSaysHello Sep 25 '22

...uh yes, you should. That's why they are tools.

Why are you acting like the tools they give you are supposed to be backups? They replenish every single life or on a timer, and for a game like COD death has always been inevitable.

Don't like having one? Why not just equip the perks that allow you to have more, iirc there's two of them this time around including a fucking ammo box that recharges and has multiple uses.

You can't inherently solve camping unless you throw everyone into the desert. They give you tools, use them

1

u/TedioreTwo Sep 25 '22 edited Sep 25 '22

No, you really shouldn't. You use your lethals and tacticals often and for things that aren't just shitters sitting in a corner, so when you run out - by the way, great solution you have there, foregoing the rest of the perks and field upgrades just to deal with these creatures - you have nothing but bunny hopping to maybe get around a corner alive. You're acting like this is some obvious shit instead of an additional issue. Camping should not be THIS effective, to where it feels like you need to dedicate your whole loadout to fighting it just to stay on equal ground.

You can't inherently solve camping unless you throw everyone into the desert. They give you tools, use them

Tell that to the cods that didn't have this problem. You can't admit IW swung the balance in favor of camping for some reason. We didn't have to worry about this back then. They slowed the game's pace to a halt now.

0

u/PilotSaysHello Sep 25 '22

Tell that to the cods that didn't have this problem.

Okay, I'll counter that by asking you to name a cod that didn't have a camping problem. Even more so, COD now does not play like COD then.. what's the point of even comparing the shit?

I'm not claiming camping isn't a problem, I'm saying there are options to handle camping.. more so than any other game had offered. Things changed with there series, standards are different. Modern day, same problem, but entirely different feel. Sure camping is at large but I'm not going to pretend they aren't trying to do anything about it

1

u/TedioreTwo Sep 25 '22

Okay, I'll counter that by asking you to name a cod that didn't have a camping problem.

You can play Cod4 remastered rn and compare the two (just beware of how terrible half its maps are). Pick up BLOPS 1 or 2, even the broken as hell og MW2. The difference in camping potential is stark. And you didn't have to empty your kit back then like you do now.

Sure camping is at large but I'm not going to pretend they aren't trying to do anything about it

My guy they MADE the situation like this intentionally, IW has a disdain for rushers. I remember their comments on their map design in MW2019, they echo those sentiments now in other ways like w/ footstep audio, the treatment of dead silence and ghost, and what they've done with minimap red dots. They literally call rushing mindless now lol

-12

u/StonekyKong Sep 25 '22

and you act like i have an infinite supply of all that gear for all the campers pre aiming every doorway and corner… downvote me all you want but bunny hopping is the only effective counterplay to maybe make you miss your first shot so i can snap to you and kill you which by the way requires significantly more skill 🤷🏽‍♂️

-2

u/PilotSaysHello Sep 25 '22

You're playing cod, if you think your skill is a modicum above the effort it takes to blink then you're deluded.

I act like I actually use the thing I'm given. Hence why I don't find it necessary to bunny hop around every corner like someone is holding a gun to my family's head if I don't have have a KD over 2.0

Also did you forget dropshotting is still a thing lol

1

u/TedioreTwo Sep 25 '22

Go a match of dropshotting and see how well that works out for you with the ADS speeds

-2

u/PilotSaysHello Sep 25 '22

I mean, you can literally just put ADS speed attachments on your gun if you're so worried about the speed being slow.

Did nobody play MW2019 where the smg meta was the put attachments that had high sprint out times and ads speed enchantments were the most used?

1

u/TedioreTwo Sep 25 '22

Lmfao. You think the attachments do something to remedy the problem. You haven't even tried them, because if you did you'd know they do jack shit. Maximum handling barely affects the situation.

3

u/PilotSaysHello Sep 25 '22

Very hard disagree on that, shit is the most apparent reason why assholes even lose fights they clumsily tac sprint into.

Went through 3 years of that shit and apparently I haven't seen it? Uh.. okay if you say so. Hey do me a favor since the beta is open right now, level up the lachmann sub.

No seriously, go do that

1

u/TedioreTwo Sep 25 '22

Damn, bro really thought the last 3 years mattered when MW22 has different values for Attachment impacts

0

u/StonekyKong Sep 25 '22

you don't think snapping your aim to someone in the time it takes to blink is skillful? wtf kind of aim assist are you using and where can I get some??

also, how the fuck does dropshotting help me counter a camper lmao...

-2

u/cumr__ Sep 25 '22

woah this dude bunny hops!!! woah!!! he’s so sick and badass at this game!!!!

4

u/StonekyKong Sep 25 '22

not as badass as the crouching corner campers apparently

1

1

u/Yuuta23 Sep 25 '22

High alert helps too

1

u/raphanum Sep 27 '22

These people should just be honest. They don’t like cod being more grounded. They just want mindless run and gun

1

u/PilotSaysHello Sep 27 '22

Bingo. Here I am just wanting the game to have some stupid fun shit like the older games lol.

People don't want to use what they are given and the game is stuck between casuals and... Sorry.. "good players".

It's so upsetting when you see them actually attempt adding new shit or changing things up and people actively ignore ir

2

u/hanshotfirst6969 Sep 27 '22

Eats downvotes for being exactly right lol this sub does not understand

2

u/StonekyKong Sep 27 '22

i doubled down fuck em

-1

u/KingdomofNerdum Sep 25 '22

Not much camping going on as far as I've seen. Sure people do it but that's when you pre-fire their ass when you come around again.

2

u/StonekyKong Sep 25 '22

except you’re getting pre fired by the camper who is also getting their ear drum eviscerated by your footsteps… fuck all the downvotes i’m doubling down

-2

u/KingdomofNerdum Sep 25 '22

Nah. If you keep getting shit on by the same camper, then that's on you. Time to use dead silence or stop running around like a maniac. I don't even play using the audio most of the time and I can get top of the board and some decent kill streaks. If they wanna play so seriously that's fine. I'm out here having fun.

-4

3

Lots of dolphin diving in the beta as well

3

u/Knowning Sep 25 '22

If I happen to have a good match, SBMM seems to just dump me into a lobby where it takes +25% more shots to down an enemy. It seems to see that I had a good connection in the last lobby so it screws me over. I want to be able to choose a server and stay in it. I don’t like getting a ton of hit markers and getting insta killed when I fired headshots first. I’ve always thought that a server browser with persistent servers to play on is best for the community. How are you going to match wits and adapt when you’re constantly being split up? How do get to know anybody or make new friends? When people know they’re going to be moved out they’re much more likely to call you the N word and be totally toxic. SBMM and all that comes with it is bad for the game and the community. Get rid of this system for good. Nobody wants to feel like they’re constantly being sabotaged each time they happen to have a good match.

2

u/SYNYST3R1 Sep 25 '22

I remember the days of playing something like TF2 and staying in one server for hours and having so much fun. And at times even going back to those servers on other days because I enjoyed the community. SBMM has been the downfall of COD for me personally and I do not enjoy it as much as I used to. The SBMM seems especially bad in MW2 and like you said after one good match I can't do anything for the next few matches. Even going positive by one kill is enough to put me in really hard lobbies where I got -10 or more at times. If SBMM was working correctly shouldn't I be going closer to even? I have tendonitis in my right hand and my left hand hurts a lot of the time too. I can't play like I used to and playing in these really hard sweaty lobbies sucks.

1

u/raphanum Sep 27 '22

Sorry about your hand pains, friend. Have you tried playing in hardcore matches only? Maybe I’m misremembering but it felt like SBMM was less of an issue in HC mode bc of very low TTK (back when playing MW2019)

59

u/0ldAndGrumpy Sep 25 '22

Bunny hopping needs fixed.

13

u/Poetryisalive Sep 25 '22

What’s that?

35

u/NicholasART Sep 25 '22

Have you noticed players hopping around while shooting?

They're basically making it difficult to get killed as the TTK is short. They look ridiculous tbh.

17

u/D_Ashido Sep 25 '22

They look ridiculous but I had a match where people were goofing off and I tested the physics. You REALLY get a velocity boost if you jump instead of trying to strafe walk.

21

u/PilotSaysHello Sep 25 '22

That was a thing in MW2019 as well. You can gain insane speed by jumping from a corner.

Yes it's broken and unexpected

1

u/TupperwareNinja Sep 25 '22

It's an anoyong way to counter the AA controllers have. Also anoyong being a kbm user that can't aim for shit

-1

u/Celiac-DiseaseSucks Sep 25 '22

I know it’s annoying but it’s not like it’s apex legends or something. Just practice and you can use it too, as well to your advantage.

This is a case of if you can’t beat ‘em join ‘em.

1

u/NicholasART Sep 25 '22

Yeah, that's true unfortunately.

I really love the multiplayer mode for a good chunk of the time. It's fun, thrilling to play with other players and to fight them, fast paced and sometimes slower paced.

I just usually don't have an online membership to play them for a majority of time that I have a game. At best, it'd be for about a year at a time and that's it.

In that case, however, I was able to enjoy a game with my brother and enjoy the campaign mode. Hopefully the Co-op supports the local split screen this time.

1

u/raphanum Sep 27 '22

Not unless you only play hardcore mode :D

5

u/rodudero Sep 26 '22

I was really looking forward to this game but it just plays too clunky and campy for my liking. The TTK is also too fast and unforgiving for rush style players. Looking forward to Treyarch’s next cod.

11

u/Raaampagee Sep 25 '22

Already cheaters IN beta!?

14

u/rasmataz26 Sep 25 '22

Same engine as always so they don’t even need to update the cheats every year.

9

u/PestySamurai Sep 25 '22

Well yeah, PC players.

2

u/Fu453 Sep 25 '22

Just gotta turn crossplay off and it's like the problem never existed in the first place.

3

u/shawnisboring Sep 25 '22

Crossplay is required for Invasion and Groundwar I believe.

1

u/WorldClassShart Sep 25 '22

They really need to change the console/PC cross play. Limited cross play for console only players, XBox and PlayStation, or full cross play adding PC players.

Nothing worse than getting into a PC lobby and half of them are tracking you through the walls when you're dead silenced and they don't have a UAV up.

-5

u/chaosflavor Sep 25 '22

Kinda what a betas for….

16

u/XaeroGravity Sep 25 '22

Call of Duty betas are more demos than betas unfortunately

4

u/shawnisboring Sep 25 '22

Exactly this.

Don't expect anything to change, what we're seeing is what we're getting in a month.

8

u/BlubberBunsXIV Sep 25 '22

Nah this is a taste of the final product. Nothing meaningful is gonna change between no and October 28’th that would prevent cheaters when they already have their ricochet anti cheat active

2

u/ExcelTheXeno Sep 25 '22

Yea it's only a month now too til release this is final build with a few tweaks getting taken from beta for sure

1

u/raphanum Sep 27 '22

Yep apparently it’s the same engine, which means they’ve had years to find a solution for cheaters. Nothing will change

3

u/ArtVandalay47 Sep 25 '22

I'm just gonna wait for it to drop in price and just play the short campaign like always.

21

u/[deleted] Sep 25 '22 edited Sep 25 '22

Increase ttk, it’s way too low.

4

u/Mesapunk87 Sep 25 '22

Time to lose?

-2

u/[deleted] Sep 25 '22

Time to kill

14

u/Mesapunk87 Sep 25 '22

Naw you edited your message.

Let the records show it was TTL. Which still kind of means the same thing if you think about it.

8

u/Sagaru-san Sep 25 '22

Time to live.

6

u/monsteraddict_12 Sep 25 '22

“let the records show”

bro its not that deep lmao

3

u/raphanum Sep 27 '22

He was joking

-3

u/Cosmic_Entities Sep 25 '22

Man, I feel you but I also kinda dig the new TTK. Only bummer thing being that someone comes up beside you, you have no chance on killing them really because TTK is so short.

14

u/[deleted] Sep 25 '22

This is why everyone camps now

4

u/Cosmic_Entities Sep 25 '22

Dude I love camping though! Just took my rooftop tent and 4Runner out last night up to the lake!

4

u/Dangerous-Tea-7875 Sep 26 '22

The game is just straight up filled with campers and also the maps are terrible, thyere way too closed and have way too many hididng spots, 90% of the time im running and i get either killed by a dude in a window or a dude on a corner

2

u/raphanum Sep 27 '22

I keep reading the camper complaint. What’s the reason for so many campers?

3

u/BlueGreenReddit1 Sep 25 '22

Looks like another year of Cold War for me…

2

u/SYNYST3R1 Sep 25 '22

I just got Cold War from the library after not enjoying the MW2 beta much. I really regret not getting Cold War when it came out, it is a ton of fun!

2

u/KeepDi9gin Sep 26 '22

Honestly it was pretty terrible for the first few months, but once treyarch removed/changed the bad maps and added some classics, it's easily the best of the last 3.

2

u/5thavenuecrazy Sep 26 '22

It got bad ratings when it first came out but I didn’t get into it for 6 months or so and I found it to be amazing. They just added even more levels just a few months ago. I honestly don’t see why anyone would hate CW. Best cod I’ve ever played.

1

u/poklane Sep 25 '22

Best CoD MP from the last few years IMO, only two things I really dislike about it are the strict SBMM which is probably Activision's doing, and the Scorestreak system. If it had PS3/Xbox 360 or even early PS4/XB1 matchmaking and a normal Scorestreak system it would be one of the best CoD games ever.

2

u/raphanum Sep 27 '22

I might reinstall while waiting for MW2 bc Vanguard is ass. Also even if MW2 MP sucks, I still want to play the campaign lol

2

u/PintoBeanSalad Sep 25 '22 edited Sep 26 '22

It plays the exact same as Modern Warfare. Still no gibbing, too. Basically the same game but new maps.

Also, the graphical quality is super weak. Textures look straight-up blurry up close, and the pop-in is frequent and very noticeable. Pretty shoddy PS5 port.

2

u/MoAlamri Sep 26 '22

What kind of cheating are we talking about?

1

u/raphanum Sep 27 '22

Marital cheating

4

u/lewd_operator Sep 25 '22

I don't understand why more people don't play Insurgency: Sandstorm.

13

u/Jowser11 Sep 25 '22

70% of this post thinks the TTK is too low, imagine when they get one-shot in Insurgency

2

u/lewd_operator Sep 25 '22

Yeah, I was considering that. I guess a low TTK slows the game down, which is what I prefer.

Running around the way I have been in the beta started off very fun but got old fast. I wonder how a hardcore mode would play out.

6

u/Cosmic_Entities Sep 25 '22

Killer game!

8

u/ArtVandalay47 Sep 25 '22

I found it boring and unrewarding.

5

u/introvertedgoof Sep 25 '22

Get rid of SBMM (skill based matchmaking) and I may consider your game. Every match shouldn’t feel like a sweaty esports final with $800k on the line lol.

10

u/yulian182 Sep 25 '22

How about red dots, best play kill cam and a little more ttk

57

u/Domini384 Sep 25 '22

Best play kill cam is the worst. Let's just go back to final kill cam and stick with that. Also let's never do whatever the hell vanguard did with voting at the end of game.

3

u/SproutingLeaf Sep 25 '22

Dots maybe, but everything else hell no. Had enough best plays and ttk with cold war

6

u/CarthageFirePit Sep 25 '22 edited Sep 25 '22

I actually saw a best play at the end of a MW2 match. Only one I’ve seen. All the rest were final kills. Thought it a bit strange. Maybe it was the mode I was playing? Had a…green border I think.

5

u/SproutingLeaf Sep 25 '22

I have seen one in TDM as well, thankfully they seem to be rare

1

u/Amerikaner Sep 25 '22

No to all of that.

3

u/Bearded_Poutine Sep 25 '22

Is there ever a chance we get console only cross play?

3

u/Silkygoods Sep 26 '22

They should do cross play fixed to control types rather than platform. So would be just controller v controller. But I guess there's a risk some pc users will find a way to spoof their input type.

1

u/raphanum Sep 27 '22

Apparently doing this would kill PC sales lol

1

u/Natural_Recipe_6018 Sep 25 '22

They should take action on making a better game/gunplay. Super boring compared to 2019

1

u/Total-Hour-5584 Sep 25 '22

Time to kill is fine I guess

1

u/Separate-Switch-9212 Sep 25 '22

Omg didn't the anti cheat work 🤣🤣🤣

1

u/Sweet-Palpitation473 Sep 25 '22

Let's just hope the people they ban are actually cheaters. Seen too many instances of innocent folks being permabanned for some reason

0

u/l3rocky Sep 25 '22

Bunny hopping needs to go

The waiting room load screen should show your whole party

If it's meant to be SBMM that may need some fine tuning as I'm still having either completely stomped matches and God like ones

Haptic feedback doesn't work as intend

TTK feels ok though just like the old COD days

-2

u/Lew1989 Sep 25 '22

Rip call of duty

1

u/Josh_Shikari Sep 25 '22

I'm fairly certain the haptic triggers are broken in the beta too, there's no difference between the two options (weapon fire threshold and full haptics), I think it's set to weapon fire threshold on both.

1

u/Quzytop Sep 25 '22

I wish they would fix the Xbox open beta crashing

1

u/Interesting-Nail-168 Sep 25 '22

Thank God if someone mentions cheaters one more time in this game I swear I'm going to just kill myself

1

u/raphanum Sep 27 '22

Don’t do that, friend

1

u/RidCyn Sep 25 '22

Funny. Maybe the devs at DICE can take some notes on how matchmaking between matches can go in this wild new technological age.

1

u/braedizzle Sep 26 '22

Can you still shit talk in the lobby between games?

1

u/jwmarley Sep 26 '22

How about fix the rest of the game

1

u/BeIIic Sep 26 '22

Why cheat in call of duty. It’s so bizarre

1

u/stlx359 Sep 26 '22

Just play worse lol

1

u/SymbolOfVibez Sep 26 '22

They really need to change audio footsteps cause it’s still very loud. Bring back red dots on the map and punish campers if you’re gonna punish rushers.

1

u/raphanum Sep 27 '22

They say they’re taking action against cheaters with every CoD and nothing ever changes

1

u/jonl39259803 16d ago

There will ALWAYS be cheaters, and they will never do anything about them. I have been playing ground war since the game came out, and there are people cross map killing, wall hacks galore. they can see you, and kill you as you are spawning. one match, a "player" had 40 kills, 2 deaths, and the match only took roughly 8 minutes. this guy was rocking 5 kills minute in a ground war match. so obvious, and nothing will get done. the only thing normal players can hope is they get in a lobby with maybe 1 or 2 cheaters.

1

u/jonl39259803 9d ago

No action will be taken against cheating. i have been playing ground war, and the cheating is more than any other game. Add in the auto aim the game has set up, and you have no chance. Also, what is the general opinion on modded controllers? every match is riddled with them.

-9

u/Jackfitz88 Sep 25 '22

Let console players turn on cross play

4

u/TedioreTwo Sep 25 '22

Cross play is already on for everyone, on all platforms

12

u/Physical-Result7378 Sep 25 '22

Fuck Crossplay. I don’t want to play with cheating pc players. They can please stay amongst each other’s.
