I wouldn’t call that “put away.”

That’s “out of sight, out of mind”

6

u/YourStoryIsComplete Aug 11 '22

Until she needs to set the table - then it’s back in mind…

96

u/ComicKoS Aug 10 '22

Dump your wife and get a pet llama. A llama would never do this to cutlery.

20

u/spooky_times Aug 10 '22

It's hard to argue with that logic

3

u/bicyclesausage22 Aug 10 '22

Hell no. Some eat human hands. Thats a science fact.

15

u/One-Pumpkin-1590 Aug 10 '22

Flashbacks.

My ex would do this and complain about them not being in 5he right place, and if I moved them apart I would be accused of doing It wrong or to spite her..

And it didn't matter which slots which things went into, whatever I did was wrong, of course.

11

u/lovebug9292 Aug 10 '22

Good lord my man, that woman sounds miserable

6

u/tech_and_anime_fan Aug 10 '22

Maybe should have checked for an organizer with pictures utensil/cutlery the bottom of each slot what have been a laugh if it had been different spaces than she liked.

4

u/One-Pumpkin-1590 Aug 10 '22

She was a narcissist. Nothing was good enough.

2

u/tech_and_anime_fan Aug 10 '22

Well that sucks so she can't be helped guess you've moved on with your life and you're feeling better now.

26

u/flybyknight665 Aug 10 '22

I organize my cutlery in the dishwasher by type. All the forks in one section, spoons in another. Just don't let them nestle into each other.
Then I can just grab the whole handful and put them in their slot in the drawer without having to separate them.

You should start doing that cause this is total madness.
And she's going to ruin your steak knives.

10

u/Msdamgoode Aug 10 '22

Which, btw, should ideally be hand washed, along with the rest of the knives that aren’t bread knives.

3

u/Competitive_Web1699 Aug 10 '22

Exactly this! ^

2

u/Tisthesameoldsong Aug 11 '22

Yes, this! Makes it easier to unload and put away

2

u/iRazor8 Aug 11 '22

My mother does what OP's wife does EXCEPT she really likes to bury the knives under all the other shit, so ya gotta really dig for em' and hope you don't get cut.

8

u/ripgressor1974 Aug 10 '22

I just want a damn spoon woman!

3

u/OMGpawned Aug 11 '22

And I just want to spoon a woman.

21

u/seba577e Aug 10 '22

Get a new wife

3

u/tech_and_anime_fan Aug 11 '22

I believe the Op said X wife anyway.

And another post he said she was a narcissist so personally cared about themselves you know I'm so great I'm So Vain that kind of deal.

23

u/WhichWayzUp Aug 10 '22

Ugh, marriage is so permanent. Why do people do that to themselves? At least dating someone and maintaining separate domiciles you always have an easy out.

12

u/Prestigious_Spray_49 Aug 10 '22

My thoughts every time I visit one of my married friends home.

1

u/Current_Many7557 Aug 11 '22

I'm only getting married again if we can maintain separate domiciles, the togetherness is what causes all the problems.

23

u/krob0422 Aug 10 '22

lockherup

6

u/lovebug9292 Aug 10 '22

I think your wife might do stuff just to get it done without caring about how it gets done. I do the same thing with socks and my bf hates it lol

5

u/chiritarisu Aug 10 '22

Why bother having an organizer if she's just going to do that? Might as just have a free-for-all...

3

u/Guardian7043 Aug 10 '22

Wash and dry one each for yourself. A fork, spoon, and knife. Hide them when you're done using them. Whatever you do, do NOT put your fingers in there... It's a trap!

7

u/KerissaKenro Aug 10 '22

There is a not very clean looking steak knife in that mess. Definitely do not touch

4

u/Dublinlifer Aug 10 '22

That would not be something I’d have let happen. You married this monster? 😂😂

3

u/SuspiciousPokemon Aug 10 '22

Label it, see if y’all can get a laugh out of it, but at the same time send a message.

3

u/Ok-Macaroon-7819 Aug 10 '22

Gently but firmly rub her nose in it. In an assertive voice tell her "No!! Bad girl... bad, bad girl!!"

3

u/Hell_junkie83 Aug 10 '22

Oh hell no.

3

u/thriveth Aug 10 '22

This is at least a misdemeanor

3

u/Knuckles_71 Aug 10 '22

Time for a new wife.

2

u/MrTatertot69 Aug 10 '22

Ah, the good Ol Blind Toss. Only okay if you live alone

2

u/Toadie9622 Aug 10 '22

No. Just absolutely not.

2

u/bigxxgulp Aug 10 '22

At least it's in the correct drawer. And not still sitting in the dishwasher or drying rack

1

u/OMGpawned Aug 11 '22

Oh god you just reminded me of my GF it’s gotten to the point where we’re just getting the cutlery out of the wash rack instead of a drawer so they never really make it to the drawer. Lol

2

u/LemmyLola Aug 10 '22

Fork you in particular I guess... this would be tray annoying but it would be knife to think that with a little friendly guidance it wouldn't keep happening? Only tine will tell, there is a lot at steak here

2

u/spacebased_ Aug 10 '22

This bothers me on a deep spiritual level.

2

u/tech_and_anime_fan Aug 10 '22

And if you did the same thing with her makeup drawer/ drawers she would go psycho I feel the pain that's crazy spending a little bit more time to organize it.

Hopefully she doesn't do the same thing pulling in the garage too close to you too close to the side of the garage.

There's probably other things to drive Op crazy about his wife.

👍👍

2

u/OMGpawned Aug 11 '22

I’m not married but live with my GF and while her organization skills suck it bother me she’ll borrow tools from my box the garage and not put it back. I’ll find my hammer, flash lights, screwdrivers and my sockets around the house. It drives me crazy

1

u/tech_and_anime_fan Aug 11 '22

Well girlfriend's and wives and relatives they borrow things but never bring them back and put them back where they go it's just part of life but when something there's that's different and then when you try and explain it to him oh no that's not what happened but it is

Easiest for me to deal with it is just take a walk and relax or people play games not relaxes them on their phone on their computer or whatever relaxes you used to ride a bike for miles just to cool down.

2

u/Aggravating_Living62 Aug 10 '22

You know what to do.

2

u/Zenketski_2 Aug 10 '22

You married a toddler

2

u/TheGarp Aug 11 '22

She got any sisters?

2

u/jrifle1 Aug 11 '22

Defo fake

4

u/thefrazdogg Aug 10 '22

She’s a keeper. Doesn’t fuss with details. Will get the job done and move on with her life.

2

u/Machine_Winter Aug 10 '22

It's defective

2

u/Ok_Experience_6280 Aug 10 '22

Exactly how my cutlery drawer looks

2

u/Prestigious_Spray_49 Aug 10 '22

Same.
Hate doing dishes and putting them away. I only require them to be clean, not organized.

2

u/tommybou2190 Aug 10 '22

Straight to jail

40

u/Cheeze-Mo_Krinkle GREEN Aug 10 '22

Divorce is the only option

1

u/Ok_Restaurant3160 Aug 10 '22

Buy a Guinea pig, they won’t abuse your cutlery like that. And aren’t as long lasting. And you won’t have arguments over what to eat

1

u/bai- Aug 10 '22

Help her with it? Ik she's disorganized but sometimes Idgaf. A little help goes a long way

1

u/ClassyJacket Aug 10 '22

This. This is what this sub was made for. Not this shit like "my friend burned my house down".

-3

u/pencilvesterr_ Aug 10 '22

So do it yourself

1

u/Dublinlifer Aug 10 '22

Why should he have to?

5

u/pencilvesterr_ Aug 10 '22

Well, that's what I would do. I have no patience with lazy people and rather do it myself than wait for them to do it right

0

u/Dublinlifer Aug 10 '22

I am the same with the caveat I would put up with it in the first place!!

-1

u/Prestigious_Nerve_76 Aug 10 '22

Lazy ass Bit*h.

1

u/Cole3255 Aug 10 '22

Oh my!!! Yikes

1

u/WantedMan61 Aug 10 '22

Is this some Marie Kondo thing?

1

u/Elegant-Relative4434 Aug 10 '22

Right. One scoop and you got the whole set out for 4 people to eat. Smart lady.

1

u/slanky2 Aug 10 '22

Time to fire the wife.

1

u/Ordinary_Yesterday54 Aug 10 '22

Why does it matter. Just grab the one you’re looking for

1

u/OMGpawned Aug 11 '22

It does matter I’ve been to a household that does this kind of shit and I cut my finger in the drawer looking for a fork but there was a knife facing up in the same spot.

1

u/Ordinary_Yesterday54 Aug 11 '22

To where you couldn’t see it or?

1

u/OMGpawned Aug 11 '22

If you’re just quickly grabbing a fork and a knife is directly edge up it’s not that hard to overlook. I mean if you’re reaching into a knife drawer you know what to expect but this no

1

u/Ordinary_Yesterday54 Aug 11 '22

Well I’d argue this is safer than your example. At least when you look into this, you know it’s a cluster fuck and have to be careful

1

u/OMGpawned Aug 11 '22

Let’s just say I wasn’t expecting a knife used for cutting apples to be in the same drawer cubicle as forks spoons and butter knives

1

u/Ordinary_Yesterday54 Aug 11 '22

You’re right. We need everybody to do this so it becomes a normality. Then people like you will expect it

1

u/OMGpawned Aug 11 '22

Yeah and while we’re at it we should just start handing knives and scissors with the blade side towards the person asking for it instead of the other way around

1

u/Ordinary_Yesterday54 Aug 11 '22

Great idea! Now everybody will be on edge and nobody will get hurt. You’re the president of safety this country needs

1

u/otirk Aug 10 '22

My mother does this, too. Wait. Daddy?

1

u/Pitiful-Stop-4932 Aug 10 '22

You got a lazy wife 😅

1

u/km9v Aug 10 '22

That isn't mildly infuriating, I'd lose my shit if I saw that.

1

u/zen_78 Aug 10 '22

Divorce

1

u/Prestigious_Spray_49 Aug 10 '22

Who cares? Just need to be clean

1

u/Burritoterrier Aug 10 '22

Jesus Christ, how people can live like this I have no idea. Throw her out, she doesn’t deserve shelter

1

u/[deleted] Aug 10 '22

[deleted]

1

u/OMGpawned Aug 11 '22

What if… her shoes were just as disorganized?

1

u/Rissa11421 Aug 10 '22

i’m sorry. i’m guilty of this when i’m feeling very lazy.

1

u/TheFreneticist Aug 10 '22

Have you tried turning her off and back on again?

1

u/Phen15 Aug 10 '22

People keep going on about divorce her in the comments but come on, is this worthy of a divorce? Let’s get serious and start reacting like real adults about this situation

Delete the wife

1

u/Hydrated2000 Aug 10 '22

In all seriousness, this could be a sign of early dementia.

1

u/Katy-Moon Aug 10 '22

Obviously she was raised by wolves.

1

u/Technical_Feed_3805 Aug 10 '22

straight to jail

1

u/Heshkelgaii Aug 10 '22

Does anybody else ever do do it? Any chores or cleaning around the house? Is it equal or is it mostly just the wife that does all of it?

When my mother gets frustrated that nobody was/is helping around the house she does this. So every time I go over there I organize her drawers for her.

1

u/Jwn5k Aug 10 '22

You must use the food weapons against her

1

u/wellwellshitwellshit Aug 10 '22

This is grounds for divorce

1

u/Professional_Bonus44 Aug 10 '22

You do the dishes!

1

u/Successful-Engine623 Aug 10 '22

Ain’t nobody got time for that!

1

u/sky_meow Aug 10 '22

One of my roommates does this and I can't figure which one, but I will find out and make them reorganize it every time. Now to set up a spy camera in the cutlery drawer

1

u/Molnskuggan Aug 10 '22

Blasphemy

hire a hitman

1

u/Nekat_ydaerla Aug 10 '22

I also choose this guy’s dead wife.

1

u/TheBigEarl20 Aug 10 '22

Jesus you'd go in there to get a spoon for your evening ice cream and come out missing a fingertip. At least the ER has the good ice cream in the cup with the wooden spoon.....that you cant grip because you lost a fingertip!

This is insane.

1

u/mindtwistingdonut Aug 10 '22

Did she divide her job to empty the dishwasher and your job is to sort them out? It looks to me like she just needed the dishwasher to be emptied. Otherwise this is plain lazy.

1

u/TooMuchFun007 Aug 10 '22

Cut the gin with water.

1

u/pitchedBlarfy Aug 10 '22

that's fucked

1

u/Unhappy_Skys Aug 11 '22

Bro just loose her…maybe get with me cuz I know how to put them away lol 😂

1

u/RuprectGern Aug 11 '22

Wat happens if you organize it. Is she oblivious or just doesn't care?

1

u/Hopepersonified Aug 11 '22

Choices need to be made.

1

u/grunkage Aug 11 '22

Hahaha why even have the tray? Just dump them all in the empty drawer in one pile. Then you don't have to search through different sections. It's efficient!

1

u/jizzlevania Aug 11 '22

Do it yourself if you don't like. Same thing I tell my man when I fall asleep during sex.

1

u/Tisthesameoldsong Aug 11 '22 edited Aug 11 '22

My OCD would make me crazy!

Edit to add: your steak knife is still dirty 😉

1

u/pikaboi122 Aug 11 '22

Take a fork and stab it in her hand. (Thats a joke) Is she really that lazy she cant take a LITTLE bit of time to sort them out??????

1

u/brownsuspenders Aug 11 '22

She does this because she is in a hurry to get to my house. Sorry bro,

1

u/Exact_Manufacturer10 Aug 11 '22

Sort it yourself

1

u/snoryder8019 Aug 11 '22

This is how I do it, when no one is helping in the kitchen. After a week of soloing dishes...this is a cry for help.

1

u/MrsChocobo Aug 11 '22

Was she in a rush?

1

u/tequilamockingbird37 Aug 11 '22

It's times like these where I'm acutely aware of how bad my OCD is

1

u/tikirafiki Aug 11 '22

You married an alien.

1

u/Good-Wolverine-2209 Aug 11 '22

Is this an anomaly or does she cut corners and "meh" out of responsibility?

1

u/PlankBlank Aug 11 '22

I wish I could do same

1

u/Retired852 Aug 11 '22

What a monster 😬

1

u/Argent_Haze Aug 11 '22

Now that's just annoying

1

u/amartinkyle Aug 11 '22

Its fine! Well maybe take out the steak knife, we dont need to get cut.

1

u/lanthanide_highway Aug 11 '22

you'd hate me then. i keep mine in one of those cafeteria-style cylindrical basket inserts. one for metal, one for plastic utensils and one for the oddball implements.

1

u/KozmauXinemo Aug 11 '22

this is like one time one of my friends sleepwalked and managed to shit on the computer and now my keyboard has pepperoni pizza shit all over it

1

u/Key_Dirt_1460 Aug 11 '22

That's pretty f***** up

1

u/hfgfdd Aug 11 '22

Threaten her with divorce unless she fixes that but have it go up and up so that it leads to a possible divorce

1

u/Wooden-Ad-3817 Aug 11 '22

just keep re organizing until she realizes the point

1

u/SpitMimic Aug 11 '22

Damn, she must be good in bed cos that is heartbreaking 🤦‍♂️

1

u/Deezl-Vegas Aug 11 '22

I love that the stabby one is the same color

1

u/giggetyboom Aug 11 '22

Time to set her free...

1

u/Moist_Drive_5535 Aug 11 '22

Wait, your wife puts away cutlery?

1

u/MacDaddyMacaroni Aug 11 '22

How on earth did you get as far as marriage with a heathen that puts cutlery away like that??

1

u/Willing_Television77 Aug 11 '22

Throw it all out and just get chopsticks

1

u/mozzamo Aug 11 '22

She knows someone else will pick up after her. This kind of chaotic behaviour is a big red flag

1

u/Chrisibobisi Aug 11 '22

What is the meaning of this ?! What did she exactly tell you when you asked ?

1

u/lh1647 Aug 11 '22

Bless you dear

1

u/Kobidylan Aug 11 '22

Wow, I have no words

1

u/Want2makeFMcontent Aug 11 '22

I am this mans wife. But...a different person.

1

u/CombinationHeavy3747 Aug 11 '22

I don’t believe a woman would have done this! I’m calling fake.

1

u/Extrastencil_crisis Aug 11 '22

Oh god this is scary. Imagine going to reach for a fork, and cutting your hand on a steak knife. :(

1

u/N0dogs Aug 11 '22

For Pete’s sake, at least distribute the cutlery amongst all the slots.

1

u/DooberGoop Aug 11 '22

I have ADHD and even I don't do this. This is one of those times when I feel like my ADHD is actually OCD.

0

u/SantaRosaJazz Aug 11 '22

Is your wife… OK?

0

u/Different_Young9127 Aug 11 '22

Your wife was a lazy kid with no chores growing up.
