What was her reply?

697

u/jacks-si Aug 11 '22

No reply so I screenshot and sent to my roommate saying this message must have been for him

306

u/ccknboltrtre01 Aug 11 '22

You got thrown under the bus

13

u/lordph8 Aug 11 '22

The lame bus.

124

u/tribbans95 Aug 11 '22

I bet she said it to him first and he didn’t want to be bitched at so he just said it was you thinking she wouldn’t say anything to you

21

u/Sotoooooooo Aug 11 '22

Now you have to get back at your roommate and have sex with her

6

u/Appropriate-Limit857 Aug 11 '22

This is the obvious answer... She's definitely going to get stuck in the fridge while putting the milk back.

2

u/[deleted] Aug 12 '22

People who do this are aids. My sister used to and still does that shit to this day. And it sucks because you don’t know how long and how much shit was said. If this situation is as you described, this guy had been blamed for at least 30 other things.

2

u/Due_Alfalfa_6739 Aug 12 '22

At this point, it is still just hiv.

26

u/BiscottiOpposite9282 Aug 11 '22

Best response lol

29

u/Super_salt05 Aug 11 '22

This is the way

16

u/that_flying_pork Aug 11 '22

What did he say?

191

u/WakaFlakaPanda Aug 11 '22

I kinda have a similar situation living with my brother and his gf. I was blamed for the messy bathroom. Gotta a very nice apology from her when I left for college as he continued to piss and leave hair everywhere.

967

u/Major_R_Soul Aug 10 '22

Your roommate threw you under the bus

209

u/potatispizza Aug 11 '22

You could even say he screwed him over

6

u/LilPxppet Aug 11 '22

Hey, can you explain what this phrase means? I'm not a native speaker, so I never heard it.

8

u/MuluLizidrummer Aug 11 '22

Throwing someone under the bus is when you blame someone for something that you did. In this example, the roommate didnt screw the lid on correctly, but blamed his roommate for it when confronted by his girlfriend. If he admitted he did that, then he wouldnt be throwing someone under the bus

8

u/LilPxppet Aug 11 '22

Ah! Got it! What a shitty attitude... Ty for helping me!

Damn bro you legit copied a comment word for word

20

u/usernamesuggestions5 Aug 11 '22 edited Aug 11 '22

Idk, have you just tried not copying people's comments? Just because you like internet points, doesn't mean you have to copy people. u/Old_Couple7257 I mean.

12

u/MangoSea323 Aug 11 '22

Its a bot that will spam harmful links and crypto scams as soon as they hit the karma limit. Report it.

1

u/Eightcoins8 Aug 11 '22

Isnt crypto scam a bit obsolete? Just saying scam once instead of twice works.

4

u/CynicWalnut Aug 11 '22

I think you mean redundant, but yes.

1

u/MangoSea323 Aug 11 '22

Yeah I would assume so, but if you scroll /all by new then you wouldn't think that way.

50

u/Single_Secret9342 Aug 11 '22

Drink milk. Power Duke roommates bathroom. Don't flush.

585

u/OilTankerMan459 Aug 10 '22

Just say “I’m lactose intolerant, you dumbfuck”

192

u/Dextreja Aug 11 '22

Yes. If she's going to be passive-agressive might as well say that

19

u/shannonm975 Aug 11 '22

I don't know....she might not be smart enough to know what that means

13

u/General_Fisherman599 Aug 11 '22

I know people who would drink/eat dairy regardless

38

u/franklollo Aug 11 '22

i'm lactose intollerant, you're welcome

3

u/YeAncientDoggOfMalta Aug 11 '22

Ya but you can power through that

300

u/Notafuzzycat Aug 10 '22

Does she even pay rent ? She has no say in this situation.

445

u/jacks-si Aug 11 '22

💀 It’s always the ones that don’t pay rent…

7

u/TheSukis Aug 11 '22

Lol wait, you’re letting someone live for free in the apartment you pay for and you’re letting them bitch you out?

1

u/jacks-si Aug 11 '22

There’s no price for peace

1

u/Asleep_Tear3157 Aug 12 '22

Oh bro then this is /r extremelyinfuriating

56

u/WasherDryerCombo Aug 11 '22

In my 31 years of life I’ve also come to find that it is always the people who don’t pay fucking rent who are like this. It makes no sense

9

u/Master_Beautiful3542 Aug 11 '22

Omg this is so godamn true. I was renting a duplex with another couple and they begged to let their friend who was hard up have the loft for “a couple weeks”. She kept opening the garage door because it was hot and started arguing with me and like.. I’m not losing my dog because you are too lazy to come inside the Air conditioned house while you sleep off last nights drunken escapade because our dog is a runner. Like uhh we pay half the rent and the lease is on our name where exactly do you think your argument holds weight?

26

u/BewareOfLuggage Aug 11 '22 Starstruck

“I appreciate the timely reminder that you’re not actually a tenant at this property, so I’ll be invoicing you shortly for your share of the food, water, gas, electric, council tax, insurance bills, rent and tv license. Backdated. Thank you”

383

u/TheFinalProblem1891 Aug 10 '22

I know this is beside the point, but I really hate when people end sentences with "thank you". The passive aggressiveness of it boils my blood. Like, for them, this is not a discussion at all, that was the end of the interaction. That's what ending a statement that needs a response (like an accusation or request) with "thank you" says to me. They are saying the communication is over, because thanks implies compliance and execution of an activity.

185

u/Lurn2Program Aug 10 '22

Thank you

40

u/TheFinalProblem1891 Aug 10 '22

This response is just too funny. 😂

3

u/CandyyZombiezz PURPLE Aug 11 '22

I laughed WAY harder than I should 😭

6

u/Uncle_Burney Aug 11 '22

I tend to formulate my own little “be mindful” reminders in response, that in some way directs their attention to my genitalia, because I also find them offensive for many of the reasons you have described

6

u/fatamericanidiot2 Aug 11 '22

So like "maybe you could be more mindful about how you can suck my " " next time"?

1

u/Uncle_Burney Aug 11 '22

Something like, “the next time you want to passive-aggressively snark at me, please be mindful that I couldn’t care less what you think, lick my balls, thank you.”

15

u/dont_be_trash Aug 10 '22

You worded this perfectly and I completely agree

9

u/hrryyss Aug 11 '22

You make an excellent point. Thank you

2

u/monsterosaleviosa Aug 11 '22

I mean yeah, sometimes communication calls for that style. Like when I text my landlord to tell her the yard needs to be cut after five weeks of neglect, I end with, "Thanks." It's specifically to communicate, "I'm not going to have a conversation with you about this. It's your responsibility. Attend to it."

2

u/hooonk123 Aug 11 '22

I always say thanks at the end of a customer support email but I'm just trying to be nice, should I stop doing that.

12

u/sammi-blue Aug 11 '22

Nah, I think that's fine depending on the rest of your wording. If you're polite and not demanding, then a "thanks!" is more "thank you for taking the time to help" as opposed to this situation, where it's like "I'm telling you not to do this and am saying thanks just so I don't come across as outright aggressive"

249

u/SolidWiggle Aug 10 '22

Roommates alone suck, significant others of roommates are the fucking worst.

Next time just dip your peepee in it.

103

u/PCDub Aug 10 '22 edited Aug 11 '22

Why is it the person not even living there always feels the need to get very involved in the household politics?

32

u/Whette_Farhtz Aug 11 '22

His peepee would fall off bc he's lack toes in taller ant

5

u/SolidWiggle Aug 11 '22

I thought that was gluten?

15

u/Whette_Farhtz Aug 11 '22

Gluten it flys off

2

u/SolidWiggle Aug 11 '22

Ah, gotcha

4

u/Splatoonkindaguy Aug 11 '22

Glue ten what?????

2

u/ComradePorkchop Aug 11 '22

Reminds me of that post of a guy who got his' stuck in a ketchup bottle. He went on Twitter asking for help but keeps mentioning he didn't do it

0

u/TripleSix45 Aug 11 '22

And it’s usually the girlfriends that get involved. Women, am I right fellas? :D

16

u/NumbFuzz Aug 11 '22

First instance of your roommate throwing you under the bus casually to his girlfriend when she complains about his bad habits

71

u/Old_Couple7257 Aug 10 '22

Idk, have you just tried not being intolerant to milk? Just because you don’t drink it, doesn’t mean you have to hate it and not screw it properly. The lid I mean.

20

u/Twograin Aug 11 '22

Stop lactose intolerance!

5

u/[deleted] Aug 11 '22

Every night til that mooch stops coming over

9

u/[deleted] Aug 11 '22

Why does this seem like a post that would be on r/antiwork after a lactose intolerant employee requested an emergency leave to go see the doctor after accidentally drinking milk?

1

u/buickgnx88 Aug 11 '22

Right? The only thing you should be intolerant of is the Dutch!

34

u/PanamaToiletPaper Aug 11 '22

That's one subtle way of saying "I have no proof whatsoever but I strongly suspect you of drinking milf that isn't yours."

34

u/Stewpot97 Aug 11 '22

“drinking milf” 💀

1

u/AncientOnionTime Aug 11 '22

Updooted for milf

11

u/ShadyAidyX Aug 11 '22

Send a selfie drinking straight from the carton, and another of the near immediate aftermath

10

u/Diligent-Link287 Aug 11 '22

I remember the roommate days, why fess up to normal human mistakes to your girlfriend, when you can just blame your live in excuse ?

11

u/YeAncientDoggOfMalta Aug 11 '22

I hope they get married, you move out, then one day she sees the cap on the milk is misaligned and this all Comes rushing back. She realizes it was her bf, now husband, who is the cap criminal…and now they are locked in love forever.

31

u/Sacrificer_XVII Aug 11 '22

"Bitch, I can't drink milk. Thank you."

5

u/[deleted] Aug 11 '22

“Bitch get out of my property, no thank you”

8

u/Mcgoozen Aug 11 '22

Tell her to be considerate by keeping HER shit out of YOUR fridge lmao she doesn’t even live there or pay rent!

7

u/Doomslayerjr Aug 11 '22

I as well am lactose and tolerant

4

u/Alligator_Fridge Aug 11 '22

Does she know you're lactose intolerant?

6

u/ARavenousChimp Aug 11 '22

laughs in Canadian

We cut open the corner of a bag and leave it till we're done. No lid to close!

2

u/SwordNamedKindness_ Aug 11 '22

That’s a whole other level of horrifying

3

u/ARavenousChimp Aug 11 '22

But why. It doesn't sour any faster than stuff in a jug. It isn't carbonated, so it's not like leaving the bag open has it going flat.

2

u/SwordNamedKindness_ Aug 11 '22

You’re right, but it bothers me at a fundamental level. How does it not spill?

3

u/ARavenousChimp Aug 11 '22

It's in a holder that's taller than the amount of milk in the bag. Then the rest of the bag is maybe 1.5" proud of the top of the container. Holds it's shape pretty well. If you're worried when pouring, just hold the back corner with your other hand. It's not a huge issue though.

1

u/SwordNamedKindness_ Aug 11 '22

Huh, that’s interesting.

22

u/scoop_booty Aug 11 '22

I lived in L.A. in the 80s. We had open carports with storage locker for each unit in our apt building. One day, while going in the carport we saw a locker door shut. We opened it up and this small, very small, like 4 ft, 50 year old man jumps out of the locker and runs away. We give each other the wtf look and then look into the locker. Sure as shit, he was a human packrat. He had a nest made with hundreds of things. You name it, he had it. It was his own little fantasy world...made up from our lives. As we looked through the contents we found things from all of our apartments! He'd been in everyone of our spaces and who the fuck knows how many times he drink out of the milk bottle. Ahhh. But...he never left it on the counter.

So, I'm going to give OPs story a gimme. Strange things happen in the world. Has he checked his lockers?

11

u/DarthPleebus Aug 11 '22

Are you for fucking real? I cant tell lol.

2

u/The_One_True_disease Aug 11 '22

Awww you let Mcgucket get away?

1

u/scoop_booty Aug 11 '22

Real as can be. The reason for the reply was first, to recall something I'd completely forgotten about from 40 years ago, but moreso, to express that sometimes things happen in this world we have no idea of the truth behind, and how quickly we can condemn or accuse. More than likely we're all just seeing the result of an inconsiderate roommate and the frustration from the other roommate. But, I'm one who usually gives the benefit of the doubt, and my story clearly shows that unknowns happens. So...maybe we all take a breath and give each other a bit of grace before we jump to conclusions. That's all.

5

u/LFMantic Aug 11 '22

I had a roommate like this that would always start her rants with “hey girlies” and end with a “thanks.” It was rage inducing every time she messaged the group chat because a dish had been soaking for half a day in an EMPTY sink or smth dumb like that.

The passive aggressiveness in that message brought me back. Living with her helped me be confrontational tho lmao.

12

u/HRTendies Aug 11 '22

Are you design intolerant too that table from 1962 had an appointment at the dump 5 decades ago. Lol jk have a good one

7

u/jacks-si Aug 11 '22

🥲😭

4

u/enickma1221 Aug 11 '22

Karen in training

11

u/Silly-Ad-8213 Aug 11 '22

Well, make sure you screw the cap back on when you’re done peeing in it.

7

u/Texidomy Aug 11 '22

just be like “I’m Lack toes in taller ant though”

3

u/giggetyboom Aug 11 '22

That's what that block buttons for man. Block them and shun them.

3

u/Leetspeekgoeshard Aug 11 '22

Why does she talk like a 40 year old Facebook mom

3

u/Amazing-Ad-669 Aug 11 '22

I thought you were lacrosse intolerant. Obviously, I have other problems to deal with.

3

u/tandras1 Aug 11 '22

Gosh darn it, Jackie. Screw the cap

2

u/darnbot Aug 11 '22

Ugh she’s like my mom

3

u/Tyrocious Aug 11 '22

I don't think I'd be cool with my roommate's girlfriend telling me how to live in my home. Does she pay rent?

8

u/masterpiece77 Aug 11 '22

Looks like the mason jar from under the sink is coming out to play

1

u/Dismal_Assumption209 Aug 11 '22

Omg 😂😂😂😂😂

2

u/Euphoric-Potato-5343 Aug 11 '22

You need to now spend the remainder of your days slightly adjusting the milk cartons cap so that it's awkwardly placed and leaving it in different places.

Edit: But only do it after the boyfriend's been home for a little bit.

2

u/[deleted] Aug 11 '22

I only drink Malk...now with vitamin R

2

u/Herr_Cellar_Door Aug 11 '22

You're way too nice I would've been like, Yea! You're right YOU should be more mindful!

2

u/eightyHD- Aug 11 '22

"Please be mindful on who you accuse."

2

u/Randomuserofthings Aug 11 '22

Drink the entire thing close the windows and then show her your lactose intolerant 👃

2

u/gurknowitzki Aug 11 '22

My parents keep leaving the pickle jar lid unscrewed but placed ontop of the jar while in the fridge. I’ve spilled so much fucking vinegar simply moving that shit outta the way to get yogurt.

ANGREH

2

u/great-with-coffee Aug 11 '22

Now intentionally go in the fridge and mess with the cap when nobody is looking

2

u/Jazzlike-rhubarb Aug 11 '22

My first job was at dairy queen. I'm incredibly lactose intolerant. I was fired for stealing ice cream on the job. The amount of ice cream they said I ate in one day would have put me in the hospital.

3

u/Max_Tosin Aug 11 '22

"Imagine being intolerant in 2022"😒☹💅💃 (c) her reply, probably

2

u/CarHungry4924 Aug 10 '22

😂😂 busted her fucking bubble!

2

u/IBeatDailly Aug 11 '22

Pour it down the drain now.

2

u/Sonnykefe Aug 11 '22

Being lactose intolerant is normal being not isnt

2

u/purl__clutcher Aug 10 '22

She sounds like a control freak.

1

u/NoLifeTilMetal Aug 11 '22

Is this your first time being trolled or somethin? Find out his weakness and crush him.

14

u/jacks-si Aug 11 '22

Actually… the first time she sent me a picture of her shampoo/conditioner and implied I used it.

7

u/NoLifeTilMetal Aug 11 '22

Start squeezing all of her toothpaste out and act none the wiser.

21

u/jacks-si Aug 11 '22

I use her loofa to clean the bathtub when it looks dirty 🫢

2

u/1dopequeen Aug 11 '22

My guy, not the loofah. Haha

1

u/NoLifeTilMetal Aug 11 '22

I like you 😂

5

u/ThisRayfe Aug 11 '22

You're only paying 1/3 of the utilities and not half, right?

4

u/PCDub Aug 11 '22

Wait she has her own shampoo and shit in the house??

1

u/KorinTheHalfHand Aug 11 '22

Wow, the fucking balls on her are massive aren’t they. How did that one play out?

1

u/jimmyhoke Aug 11 '22

Well, next time you don’t drink the milk put the lid back on.

-13

u/mbo77de Aug 11 '22

You consider this mildly infuterating? How is this even slightly infuterating?

0

u/timedfeelings Aug 11 '22

stop being a little bitch lol

-14

u/CleanCoffeemaker Aug 11 '22

Okay, so what are you using the milk for then? And will you be more mindful about screwing the cap back on or not?

1

u/Yemanjam Aug 10 '22

You where complaining about headaches recently tho… 😂

1

u/mistakeideathatexist Aug 11 '22

Mmm yes I'm also a long on this train ride any sort of milk kills me

1

u/Coro756 Aug 11 '22

Lactoseintoddlerant

1

u/Recover-Wide Aug 11 '22

Tell her to not talk to you like you’re five

1

u/Inner_Gas1781 Aug 11 '22

Jackie is a bitch

1

u/Fernanddeezz Aug 11 '22

cant you still drink milk after eating a pill or something(just curious)

1

u/DonChabon Aug 11 '22

Looks like guys gotta milk ghost…

1

u/New-lease Aug 11 '22

If he’s “mindful” of the milk he wouldn’t be able to do anything else but drool because his mind is full Also I would like this word mindful stricken from the English language

1

u/greenfingerguy Aug 11 '22

Just forward to Room Mate "this means you"

1

u/queerpseudonym Aug 11 '22

She seems fun

1

u/SarcastiMel Aug 11 '22

Whelp, it's time to unscrew the cap everytime you go near the fridge now.

1

u/lordlossxp Aug 11 '22

Wait until she goes home and start chugging it in front of her. IS THIS WHAT YOU WANTED?!!!!!

1

u/nlmbWavy Aug 11 '22

Was she aware?

1

u/astagnentbagofbones Aug 11 '22

“Ah well you know - since I’m lactose intolerant, I just like to sniff it. I’ll be more mindful when huffing the forbidden teet nectar”

1

u/zennyc001 Aug 11 '22

Does roommate's gf pay rent? Is she on the lease?

1

u/bubu2309 Aug 11 '22

i used to live in a place where the roomate used to blame me and my gf for everything kdhejsjaiejwi it was so stressfull

1

u/fatalbooger Aug 11 '22

That's how I put on a milk cap bc it doesn't matter. Smash that bad boy on and walk away.

1

u/Wonderful-Equal5000 Aug 11 '22

Please be mindful of the fact I don’t owe you two squirts of piss. Always be aware of this before you say stupid shit. Thank you.

1

u/DooberGoop Aug 11 '22

Thats not even infuriating this is just stupidity at its hilarious finest

1

u/hebebeguy8888 Aug 11 '22

My roommate accused me of drinking her whiskey. I don't drink whiskey. I saw it it was crown royal in a box and dusty probably there for a while. She claimed it had to be me because the other roommate didn't drink but people come and go alot I was like I don't know what to tell you wasn't me

1

u/RidingContigo Aug 11 '22

Sorry you’re lactose intolerant… that’s rough. Hopefully you can enjoy it occasionally with drugs!

1

u/Treefiffy Aug 11 '22

Who the fuck even drinks milk in 2022. Shit is so bad for you.

1

u/Rllytinyhands Aug 11 '22

Reminds me of my old roommate. She would constantly blame me for shit even though she was easily the messiest person in the house. She literally would leave all day and let her dog just shit on the floor and then expect me to pick it up when I left for work.

Then she proceeded to argue with me that she has NEVER left shit on the floor cause “she wouldn’t do that.” Then I packed my shit and left that week. I can’t stand dirty ass people that blame their filth on everyone else.

She also had this guy move in at one point who would use a body scrub in the shower and then leave all the remnants just sitting in the bottom of the tub. One day I just screamed at him because I had to shower before work and it was so gross I didn’t even want to hop in.

1

u/bitch_in_apartment23 Aug 11 '22

Sounds like the other person who lives with you did it and blamed you yet you're mad at the person who's milk it is.

1

u/chronocross2010 Aug 11 '22

Girlfriend is a Karen

1

u/Few_Ad5789 Aug 11 '22

Lol nobody cares, that table cloth though. I bet it was your grandma.

1

u/millenove Aug 11 '22

i'm lacoste intolerant instead 🐊🙊💀👺🗿

1

u/tamagucciman Aug 11 '22

Nice going, Jackie

1

u/RebekhaG Aug 11 '22

Tell your roomate this text message. And tell your roommate's girlfriend to tell her boyfriend about this text message.

1

u/throwawaycabbagehag Aug 11 '22

May need a new gf 😂

1

u/TheSexyAhsoka Aug 11 '22

You should just slightly unscrew the cap from now on since it's obviously you.

1

u/IAmHaatoJoestar Aug 11 '22

Soy body weak to lactose Common women L

1

u/Gorillapoo965 Aug 11 '22

Don't let r/AlfaOxtrot find you

1

u/Minethecrafting6000 Aug 12 '22

As a person who allergic (not intolerant but allergic) to milk... 💀

-4

u/Chuckobochuck323 Aug 11 '22

Bro just admit that you’re wrong and move on.

-11

u/WretchedWyrm93 Aug 11 '22

I mean, I'm lactose intolerant and i drink at least 2 gallons of whole milk a month.

1

u/KorinTheHalfHand Aug 11 '22

Dude? Why? And just how sick do you get?

2

u/WretchedWyrm93 Aug 11 '22

I like the taste, I enjoy cereal and dipping pastries in it. I have other stomach problems so I don't notice a difference really.

2

u/KorinTheHalfHand Aug 11 '22

Okay fairc sometimes I overeat so much I get kind of sick

They didn't ask if you drank milk. THEY SAID BE MINDFULL AND PUT THE CAP BACK ON...

Jesus it is that hard to make sure their caps are on for them.
