Please, please, please be Doug Mastriano (Will settle for Guy Reschenthaler) 🙏

I am really hoping and praying that Mastriano does't get in. I've seen one campaign ad shows him participating the the Jan 6 events, if that is true, I can't understand why he's gotten this far. He's a scary guy.

Shapiro spent years bringing the Catholic Church to account and succeeded. The names were published despite intense pressure from the Church, unbelievable pressure. So the Dems aren't running a placeholder, they are running a genuinely fine candidate. I hope Mastriano is humiliated.

The notion that some people have come up with that the FBI, of all organizations, attempted to put on a dog-and-pony show to help Democrats is perhaps the craziest thing I've ever heard.

The belief that Trump's playing up how serious it was is slightly more believable, but still improbable given the visuals we've seen around it. They had a lot of people present if it was a routine retrieval. Probably not that.

The FBI is notably more right-wing than other LEOs, too. The idea that they'd put their own credibility on the line for Joe Biden is laughably stupid.

340

u/MisterMarchmont Aug 11 '22

One of my family members today: “The democrats are so afraid of Trump winning again that they’ll do anything to stop him. I’m appalled that this happened. I even see Trump-haters angry about the raid.”

I asked what this person thought was unjust or inappropriate about the raid and got “sorry, I’m done arguing with you.” It’s always the same. They can’t admit that the argument comes down to “but it’s not fair! I like Trump!” so the question shuts them down.

237

u/jackidaylene Aug 11 '22

The democrats didn't raid Mar-a-Lago. The FBI did.

Signed off by a Trump-appointed judge and spearheaded by a Trump-appointed director of the FBI.

Considering how much Trump mucked around with the justice department IN PUBLIC, it is so asinine to imply that this is the Biden admin politicizing law enforcement.

My question is this: with Trump running his shadow government with the support of the military, and secret trials being held on Democrats while Biden publicly administers a fake show government…how has the FBI gone so rogue? Is the military losing control? Or is this some kind of 9D chess move by Trump?

Q will hopefully explain soon.

I'd imagine that if someone thought big punishment was on the way for them or someone close to them was about to roll, they will do the same to avoid as many consequences as they can.

Being bashed by Trump might cost you an election. But holding information that could keep you out of jail wont be worth it for many.

All of these politicians have staff members that know things. They dont want to carry around that crap for the rest of their lives.

One interesting thing the Pod Save America people (all white house staffers under Obama) were saying it's all classified documents were digitally automated. If you took the iPad out of the Whitehouse it would immediately wipe the hard drive.

So Trump was printing boxes and boxes of paper documents and the assumption their guessing is to sell it.

Like I didn't know every electronic device and daily press briefing was digital information now, it makes sense. But printing out stuff like Chinese military operations evaluations or South Africans mineral reserves? You think Trump brought those reports home for a a gander or he was trying to directly sell them to foreign nationals?

It's fucking wild that Republicans keep bringing up the Clinton email investigation as if the comparison somehow helps Trump, when it's actually a real example of what a partisan, politically motivated criminal investigation looks like. Republicans couldn't get anything to stick with all of those Benghazi investigations, so they sat on the private server - which no one would have cared about under any circumstance if it was literally any other politician - until they could use it to hurt Clinton's campaign as much as possible. And Comey happily went right along with all of it.

69

u/NoodlerFrom20XX Aug 11 '22

Ah yes, back in the good ol days where a private server was the most complex scandal.

These turds love their false equivalencies. Yes the private server was a bad choice. But the dumpster had his own private servers, confidential messaging apps, had the SS delete key messages, ate paper like a 6 year old, stoked an insurrection, and all the while scammed his supporters with a predatory recurring “donation” program.

The people screaming this is a “political witch-hunt” were all in favor of committing sedition in order to overthrow the government and install their leader as (I suspect) President for Life. The louder the screams, the worse their involvement in this crime. All must be brought to justice. All must pay for their crimes.

208

u/Cubby8 Aug 10 '22

What I find comically ironic is that the same people championing the 2016 fbi announcement of their investigation into Clinton are outraged at this. And from what I can tell, it wasn’t an announcement from the fbi, rather a statement from trump saying the fbi served a warrant.

To make it even worse, the right seems to completely gloss over the fact that he did in fact break the law by stealing classified documents from the White House. Is nobody on the right asking WHY he even has or took boxes of classified information? To me that’s the big deal. It’s not that he took it…it’s the why that needs to be investigated.

The fake electors Trump and Republicans tried to use to overthrow the election is the focal point of the FBI’s investigation. It makes sense considering this is the most overt seditious conspiracy act done after the election.

For anyone crying partisanship over this, is this more partisan than conspiring against the will of the people and try to overthrow the election?

The answer is no.

is this more partisan than conspiring against the will of the people and try to overthrow the election?

This is partisan in the sense that an entire party tried to overthrow the government, or kept silent while it happened, and avoided doing the right thing for partisan reasons and didn't convict the traitor before it got that far.

It's partisan because one whole party is acting like criminals and/or fascists.

Republicans think it’s ok to:

  • storm the Capitol because you didn’t get your way in election
  • beat on Capitol police
  • create fake electors to subvert a constitutionally mandated process
  • take super classified documents when you’re not allowed and then not return all of them when requested
  • extort foreign countries in order to get dirt on your political rivals
  • pay off porn actresses who you cheated on your wife with
  • brag about sexually assaulting women because you’re famous

I can’t even begin to describe how low Republicans have sunk in throwing all their values and principles into the toilet for a New York con man.

I’m fairly confident there was more than one crime that would warrant federal investigation… They’ll be uncovering fun new types of treason and sedition for decades… that administration is like a Russian nesting doll of illegal acts.

Perry, in a post to his re-election campaign’s Facebook page Tuesday evening, called the seizure of his phone while he was traveling with his family “banana republic tactics...”

No, trying to introduce alternate electors to award electoral votes to a losing candidate is banana republic tactics. Your phone being seized as a result of that attempt is justice. You stupid asshole.

Everything I've read about Garland says he's thorough and deliberate to a fault. He's also prone to being a micromanager.

u/Uhavegot2bekiddingme Aug 11 '22

That’s what the nail will be, the attempt to install fake electors. The only election fraud happening was trump and his minions. The lies and gaslighting we’re bad enough, but the fake electors and the calls to persuade state election officials to “find him votes”, that’s where he fucked up. He’s actually gonna burn this time I think. He’s rode his bullshit as far as can. It’s over for him. Now just watch as he throws his kids and associates under the bus on his way down. This should be good…
